Feeling like life’s stacked against you? Watch this

Although the first thing that may strike you about Nick Vujicic is his body (or rather lack thereof), this story isn’t actually about the body. In fact, when I was reminded of Nick recently, I wondered whether an article about him belonged on this site at all.

But then I remembered that I can write about whatever I want, and what I want, is to draw as much attention as possible to someone who, on those days when we’re perhaps feeling a little down on ourselves or that we have it tough, reminds us just how much better it’s possible for us to be.

As you can see, Nick Vujicic was born without arms or legs due to a rare condition known as Tetra-amelia syndrome. He considered suicide at the age of just 8 years old, attempting to drown himself was he was just 10.

Yet by 17, Nick had started a non-profit organisation called Life Without Limbs, through which he still works to inspire others who are struggling to overcome challenges. Nick is also an internationally renowned motivational speaker and last year published his first book, also called “Life Without Limbs”.

There just aren’t words to express my admiration for this guy. Hopefully he can inspire you, as he has done me, when I’ve felt tired, lazy, or as if some goal was beyond me.
