A man has been arrested in Spain after his scheme to steal items from passengers’ luggage by stuffing himself into a suitcase was discovered by police.

The man, who has not yet ben named, was loaded onto the cargo hold of a bus making the 60 mile (100km) trip from Girona airport to Barcelona by an accomplice (who was also arrested). He would then proceed to pick the locks on the other suitcases and steal the possessions inside.

Police were alerted after a number of passengers taking the bus ride reported that items had been stolen. They reported arresting “a very thin man” last week…
