Meet Alex Honnold, the fearless geek
28 year old Alex Honnold isn’t your typical adventurer. In fact, he’s described as “a bumbling, dorky awkward kind of goof ball”.
Tell you what though, after watching this guy climb, he’s my kind of bumbling, dorky awkward, goof ball.
Alex, who started climbing when he was just 11 years old, is one of the world’s best free-climbers, scaling sheer rock faces tall with no safety gear whatsoever.
He holds numerous records, including becoming the first person to free-solo climb the 2000ft Regular NW Face of Half Dome in Yosemite, California. In January 24, 2010, Alex was awarded the “Golden Piton” for his climbing achievements.
