If you’ve ever pulled off a bandage or plaster and taken what feels like half the skin/hair on your body with it, you’re going to like this news.
According to adhesive technology company 3M, the days of dreading the removal of a plaster will soon be behind us, thanks to their new silicone tape technology, which they claim bonds with skin in a unique way.
According to 3M:
The unique properties of the tape’s silicone adhesive work with skin in a different way than acrylate adhesives, found on most traditional medical tapes. This allows tape with silicone adhesive to be removed with minimal disruption of fragile skin layers or pulling of hair, without compromising securement.
In other words, if you’re particularly hairy, have a particularly slow-healing wound or are just a wuss, you should be able to take the dressing off without crying like a baby soon…
