Ok, so we’ve seen people who modified their bodies for a purpose, people who modified their bodies for the fun of it, and people who modified one particular part of their bodies for…reasons I’m not quite sure of. What’s next? Celebrities of course!!!

Yes, it seems that there’s just no stopping some people when it comes to their attempt to defy the ageing process, so much so, that although we’d originally planned to make this a mixed sex list, we found so many people worthy of entry that we decided to split it into two, one for women, one for men. And as we’re chivalrous sorts here at BodyGeeks, we though we’d let the ladies go first…

Jocelyn Wildenstein

71 year-old Jocelyn Wildenstein reportedly began her adventures in plastic surgery after discovering her then husband, multi-millionaire art-dealer Alec Wildenstein, in bed with a 19 year-old model. Rumour has it that she believed that her husband would find her more attractive if she looked more feline.

It didn’t work out.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, when her former husband first saw his wife’s newly-sculpted face, he screamed in horror, unable to recognise her.

Still, the resulting divorce saw Jocelyn recieve a payout of several million dollars. A good thing really, as she is rumoured to have spent over £2 million (about $3.2 million) on plastic surgery.

Maria Geronazzo

Maria Geronazzo is a celebrity in Hungary thanks to her…”unique” looks. She has appeared on a number of television shows and at various events and even recorded a special Happy Birthday song for US president Barack Obama a couple of years ago.

Not content with altering her face, Maria has more recently turned her attention to other parts of her body, with a rather gigantic set of breast implants. Sorry Maria, one list at a time please…

Amanda Lepore

Born Armand Lepore, Amanda Lepore is a transgender model, performance artist, musician and all around icon who is perhaps most famous for her work with photographer David LaChapelle.

Unlike most of her list-mates, Amanda’s cosmetic enhancements aren’t just skin deep. To date, she’s undergone a nose job, cosmetic rib surgery, permanent lip implants, three breast enlargements, butt implants and “eye-slanting,” to make her look more feline. And then, of course, there’s the sexual reassignment surgery; Ms. Lepore proudly possesses an artificially-constructed vagina.

Amanda once told a reporter that she knew “from day one she knew she was a girl”. Funny, I’m still not sure either way…

Joan Van Ark

68 year-old Joan Van Ark is an American actress, best known for her roles in daytime soap classics, “Days of Our Lives” and “Dallas”.

More recently, she made a guest appearance on the plastic surgery themed TV show “Nip/Tuck”. Which somehow seems….appropriate.

Michaela Romanini

Michaela Romanini is a prominent Italian socialite who is somewhere in her mid-40s, making her (we think) the youngest person on our list. So just why she’s felt the need to have this much “work” done is beyond us.

Also, maybe I’ve just become numb after spending hours looking at pictures of botched plastic surgery, but as bad as these photos of Michaela look, is anyone else more disturbed by her eyebrows than anything else on her face?
