Woman’s breast implant exploded by paintball

Sure, paintballing is fun, but it’s also a place for serious people. Being hit by a paint ball hurts! Especially if you get hit in a…sensitive area. Just in case you’re tempted to dismiss me as a wuss though (which I am), here’s an example of just how much damage one of these little pellets can do. The story of a woman whose breast implant was hit with such force, it exploded inside her chest…

The lady in question is a 26 year-old, was paint-balling with friends at an outdoor park in Croydon in the UK. After being hit in the breast on Saturday, she went to her doctor the following Monday complaining of pain, only to discover that her implant had been ruptured.

Paintball pellets travel at up to 190 mph and though some paint-balling centres do have protective gear available, woman will generally not be offered it unless they ask (or their enhancements are particularly obvious).

The company in question has added an extra line has also been added to their standard indemnity form saying, “paintballs can damage/rupture breast implants” and a spokesman for UK Paintball said they were now taking precautions to make sure women with breast implants avoided injury, but said he believed that it was the first accident of its kind in the UK.

“Part of the fun of paintball is that it hurts a bit when you get shot but in all the years we’ve been going we’ve never seen an incident like this.

“It came as a real surprise to hear that a woman had her implant burst at one of our centres and whilst she’s going to make a full recovery, we want to ensure nothing like this happens ever again.”
