There’s nothing so guaranteed to get me all misty-eyed than watching someone’s life changed for the better in a profound way. This video of a 29 year-old woman hearing her voice for the first time after being fitted with a hearing implant, captures just such a moment.

Sloan Churman, who was born deaf, has been wearing hearing aids since the age of 2 but says that “they only help so much”. She had her husband record the moment when the implant was turned on for the first time and as you can see, it was a pretty big deal for her.
